Biography

1925 Born October 15 in Nantes, France.
1945 First studies of modeling and drawing at the School of Fine Arts in Nantes. His natural gifts and enthusiasm were rewarded in 1948 with a City scholarship , which enabled the apprentice scuptor to study to Paris.
1950 Paris and the studio of Marcel Gimond. The strict charater of the master and his teaching of the classical values of sculpture open the horizons to work. The passion he transmitted inspired the disciple to follow his own path in 1953.
1955 The Susse Prize. The famous art foundry awards the Susse Prize to a winner chosen from a selection of young sculptors. The Adolescent Girl, the grace and elegance of youth.
1960 Paris Museum of Modern Art, Purchase of Bust of Bubu, which becomes part of its permanent collection. An original, numbered bronze casting. The humane expression of an accomplished man
1962 Museum of Modern Art, Palais de Tokyo, Salon of small bronzes. Exhibition of the Rice Eater, an intimate sculpture expressing the sensitive side of the Oriental soul.
1964 Rodin Museum, Paris. Biennale of the Human Form. Exhibition of Meditation in plaster. A reflection on the world.
1966 Galerie J.C. Bellier, Paris. Exhibition of bronzes. A selection of figures and busts. The little Girl Who Walks, created from a live model.
1968 Paris Museum of Modern Art. purchase of The Thinker, which becomes part of the museum's collection. An original, numbered casting. A work representing a seated figure absorbed in his inner thoughts.
1972 Becomes a teacher at the School of Fine Arts in Nimes.
1974 Charles Despiau Prize. The sculptor enters the great tradition of French sculpture. The prize is awarded by the Mont-de-Marsan Museum in tribute to Charles Despiau.
1975 Mont-de-Marsan Museum. Exhibition of 39 sculptures (1968 - 1975). The museum acquires Bust of the Painter Formica.
1975 La rose d'Angers. Creation of a monumental fountain. The image of a desert in which elements in their raw state confront each other. Water source of life, sprays the petals and runs in cascades. A collaborative work of Hogommat and Perrin.
1979 Galerie Dubost, Paris. A show of 55 works. Human movement expressed through African fighters. Movement and rhythm. A Spectacle of gestures.
1980 Galerie Matignon, Paris. Exhibition of Nausicaa, a major bronze cast by Coubertin. Goddess of the sea and the fullness of youth.
1982 Bourdelle Museum. Exhibition of Standing Man, a physical, humanistic presence.
1984 Galerie Sculpture, Paris. Exhibition of 35 bronzes, Les bronzes de collection. A group of figures on the theme of the dance. Exhibition of Study for the Dance n°1, movement and grace expressed through the art of the dance.
1990 Salon of French Artists. A Gold Medal in 1990, First Prize for Sculpture in 1994 for the Sprinter, Medal of Honor in 1998 for the sculptor's body of work.
1993 Galerie Univers du Bronze, Paris. Retrospective exhibition of 60 bronzes, including the Tang Horse.
1995 Evariste Jonchère Prize. A prize dedicated to the continuity of traditional figurative values Boulogne Museum. Exhibition of Bust of Laurent, expressing childhood and simple joys.
1996 European Sculpture Triennale, Paris, in the flower-filled Jardin des Plantes, exhibition of the Conqueror a major bronze symbolizing the dynamic woman.
1997 Exhibition at the Taylor Foundation, Paris. 60 works : drawings, plasters and bronzes. the Ultimate Effort, a person at the limit of physical effort.
1998 Institut de France Bréauté Prize. Return to sources with Bust of Bubu, a sure artistic value, a bust surpassing the frontiers of fashions and time.
2001 Galerie Sculpture de Maître, Paris. Retrospective exhibition, including the Sprinter, inner force and physical presence combined in an explosive race.
